The Ignatius Revised Standard Version of the Catholic Bible is perfect for personal reading, studying, and preaching the Gospel to everyone, Catholic and non-Catholic alike. I have personally found that more people are familiar with the Revised Standard Version of the Bible if they are over 50 years of age. Readers and listeners have a better grasp and understanding of what is being read than some of the more contemporary translations available today. But this is my personal opinion.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is a good translation in something more dignified than a paperback. It does not include much other than the actual scripture, so if you are looking for a "family Bible" edition with room for records or geneology you will something else,

Comments:

Wonderful for experiencing a closeness to God and His only begotten Son Jesus Christ, thru the Holy Spirit. The unique beauty of this Bible seems to call to me, urging me to read and meditate. Upon picking it up, I find it hard to put it down.
