I bought this hardback edition of the Catechism for someone who is just beginning to explore the Catholic faith in depth. The compact size makes it easy to bring to Bible studies/faith discussions and the hardback means that it will last a long time, two features I felt were essential in a book that's going to get a lot of use. The clear presentation of doctrine, the extensive subject index, and the supporting Biblical references make this catechism an indispensable tool in learning and defending the Catholic faith.
