The only space for writing is dark and the paper has a glossy finish. I had to purchase a special metallic marker in order to be able to sign our names to the card(s). The card is beautiful, though.

They really are beautiful cards. They're a bit more narrow than expected, but still stunning. My issue is that the signature area is small - and far too dark for an average pen. I don't know what we'll be using to sign - maybe a gold glitter pen, or wide marker of some type.
